JONESBORO, Ark. (3/14/18) – Arkansas State bowlers Taylor Davis and Haley Richard have qualified for the 2018 Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) National Tournament after both finished within the top six at an ISC Sectional Qualifier recently held at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tenn.
A native of Davison, Mich., Davis registered a six-game total pinfall of 1,264 to place second among 160 competitors at the event. Three of the six games she bowled saw her post scores of more than 200 with a high score of 266 in her final game to solidify her spot in the standings.
Haley Richard posted a six-game total of 1,232 to clinch a spot inside the top six at fifth in the competition. A native of Tecumseh, Mich., she also rolled three games of 200 or more with a 242 in game four representing her highest pinfall in the event. Jordan Richard missed the top six by just one pin with a 1,217 total pinfall.
A freshman, Davis has seen significant playing time in a number of tournaments, including a 24th place showing at the Stephen F. Austin Stormin’ Ladyjack Classic Feb. 16-18 with a total pinfall of 1,016 (203.20 per game average). Haley Richard has finished in the top 10 in a number of events this season with her best finish coming in the Mid-Winter Invitational Jan. 12-14 with 1,107 total pins (221.40 average) to place sixth.
The 2018 ISC Nationals will be held April 16-21 at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb.
