Arkansas State Quarterback Cameron Birse caught up with RedWolfReport.Com about the offseason, Fall Camp, and the battle for the number 2 spot behind Fredi Knighten. Knighten is going into his 2nd season as the full time starter for Arkansas State. Birse has been on campus for 3 years with one of those being a red-shirt year. Birse battled Hogan last season for the number two spot and this year he finds himself in a battle with James Tabary. Tabary was a player who was thought very highly of when the staff signed him before last season and spent his freshman year red-shirting and working with the scout team.

Birse is a player that has matured and taken on a leadership role with this team. He has retooled his body to make his frame and ability fit the style of offense Coach Anderson likes to run. He’s got a strong arm and is very accurate. He’s got good enough mobility to make things happen inside or outside of the pocket.
