Sports Medicine Golf Scramble Rapidly Approaching

JONESBORO, Ark. (6/3/14) – The 15th annual Arkansas State University Sports Medicine Golf Scramble is less than two weeks away and reservations are being accepted for the event, which is set for Monday, June 16, at the Jonesboro (Ark.) Country Club.

The A-State Sports Medicine Golf Scramble directly benefits athletic training, student-athletes, and students at Arkansas State University.

“Your participation and support of this event ensures Arkansas State University Sports Medicine and Athletic Training provides the highest quality and most current therapeutic and rehabilitation equipment necessary in caring for injured A-State student-athletes,” said A-State head certified athletic trainer Ron Carroll.  “The funds generated from past A-State Sports Medicine Golf Scrambles have went towards the purchase of equipment items such as AutoSound Hands-free Ultrasound, Interx Neuromuscular Stimulation, BCI Portable Cooling System, LaserPrism Therapuetic Laser, Normatec Recovery System, Kneebourne Therapeutic Elite Seat, Ice-O-Matic Ice Machine, and Computer Balance System.

The cost for this year’s event is $85 per individual and features a four-person scramble format, which includes golf, golf cart, and lunch.  The four-team entry charge is $340 for entries received on or before Monday, June 9.  Those who register after June 9 are encouraged to call 870-972-3342.

Sponsorship packages for the 2014 A-State Sports Medicine Golf Scramble are Major Sponsor ($1,000) – Entry fee for four players, prominent signage on both a tee and green, and your banner placed in the clubhouse; Corporate Sponsor ($500) – Entry fee for four players and two signs on a tee and/or a green; and a Tee/Green Sponsor ($100) – Prominent signage at a tee or green.  All donations to the Red Wolves Foundation/Athletic Training fund are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.

Checks are to be made payable to the Red Wolves Foundation/Athletic Training and included in your registration.  Registration forms for the A-State Sports Medicine Golf Scramble should be mailed to: Ron Carroll, P.O. Box 480, State University, Ark.  72467.

An awards presentation will be held immediately following the conclusion of the scramble with prizes to be awarded for those teams finishing in first, second, and third place.  A number of specialty prizes such as the longest drive and the closet to the pin at designated holes will be awarded.
