JONESBORO, Ark. (4/8/14) – Tuesday night was special day for one young baseball fan who has faced extreme adversity in his life by having his wish of attending a St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball game and throwing out the first-pitch come true in a special ceremony presented by the Make-A-Wish Foundation at the Jonesboro Radio Group building in downtown Jonesboro.

Members of the Arkansas State baseball team and Howl were present as three-year-old Elijah Owens was told that he would be traveling by bus to attend and upcoming Cardinals’ game and would have the opportunity to meet the players and throw at the first-pitch to Yadier Molina before the game.

The A-State baseball players gave Owens a hitting lesson as he took swings off a tee as family, friends and members of the Chi Omega Sorority cheered him on. Owens and his family will leave Thursday, April 10 on a special bus and stay in a downtown St. Louis hotel before attending the Cardinals’ game against the Chicago Cubs Friday, April 11.
