JONESBORO, Ark. (7/2/2014) — Three Arkansas State baseball players have been named to the All-Star teams in the Prospect League in Indiana and the Mid-Plains League in Kansas.

Colton Kibler and Collin Massanelli were each selected as Prospect League All-Stars after great starts to their seasons, while Brett Nickle was chosen as a Mid-Plains League All-Star.

Kibler, who plays for the Hannibal Cavemen, was tabbed as the relief pitcher for the West squad. The rising senior ranks second in the league with five saves and a microscopic 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings. He has made 11 appearances with 18 strikeouts and has allowed two runs on just 10 hits.

Massanelli was named as a reserve on the East team after a strong start to his summer. He has 23 hits with six RBIs and 14 runs scored at the midway point of the year. He has stolen three bases, walked three times with two doubles and one triple. His team, the Butler Blue Sox, is in third place in the East Division of the Prospect League with a 17-13 record.

The Prospect League All-Star game is set for July 8 in Terre Haute, Ind., at Sycamore Stadium.

Nickle, who plays for the Junction City Brigade of the Mid-Plains League in Kansas, was one of 25 players named to the inaugural MPL All-Star team. The squad will play the Kansas City Amateur Baseball Association All-Stars Saturday, July 5 at 7 p.m. at Rathert Stadium in Junction City. Nickle was one of just seven Division I players to be named as an All-Star.
